I started extreme couponing in April 2021!

I have learned so much about couponing since then. When I first started, I thought you NEEDED printed paper coupons, but the truth is that it is so easy to extreme coupon items for free or really cheap even with only digital coupon methods. I'll talk about some of my favorite hacks for when you don't have paper coupons in this post!

This article contains affiliate links. This simply means that if you purchase a product that I am recommending, I can make a commission at no cost to you. Please keep in mind that the products I recommend are products that I love or have worked for me personally.

First let's talk about the basics of couponing in general. There are manufacturer coupons, store coupons, and store reward, and cash back, or rebate, apps. Those are the four main things you should be aware of. There are also different coupon policies at each store that you should look at before you shop. You cannot use two manufacturer's coupons on one item, but you can combine a store coupon and a manufacturer coupon. Here is an example of a perfect couponing scenario: You use manufacturer coupons, store coupons, and rebate apps to get your items for free, then you earn store rewards (which is money you can spend at a specific store) to roll into your next purchase, which makes your current purchase a moneymaker! In the couponing world, store rewards/cash are as good as actual money, because you can use it to buy items. I hope this makes sense! Here are some quick definitions to help!

Manufacturer Coupons

These are coupons that are provided by the manufacturer of that item. Pampers diapers are made by P&G, for example, so the coupon will say P&G on it.

Store Coupons

These are coupons that are provided by the specific store you are shopping at and can only be used at that specific store.

Store Rewards

When you purchase qualifying items or spend a certain amount depending on what sale is going on, you can earn store rewards. For example, CVS has weekly sales of Spend $30 get $10 Extracare Bucks. CVS tells you in their weekly ad which items qualify for this deal.

Rebate Apps

These apps simply allow you to earn cash back on qualifying items after you have already purchased them by simply scanning your receipt and/or the items that you purchased to prove that you purchased them. Some apps give you the cash back immediately, some give you gift card options, and some apps give you the cash back after you reach a certain dollar amount.

WHAT APPS SHOULD I DOWNLOAD?

1: Coupons.com App

The coupons.com app is amazing. You simply open the app, clip digital coupons that you want to use, and scan your receipt after purchasing a qualifying item. It is essentially like a "cash back" app. And the really cool part is that you get the money back the same day if you connect an account like a paypal account. Super easy!

2: Ibotta

I love this rebate app! Simply select which offers you're interested in for each store. You select the store in your Ibotta app, then scan your receipt and the cash back goes to your Ibotta account. Once you reach $20, you can transfer the money to the bank account of your choice! I've provided a link below where you can sign up, scan your first receipt to earn cash back, and then get an extra $10 simply for using this link!!! Amazing!

3: Fetch Rewards

Fetch Rewards is also a rebate app, but it is a little different than Ibotta, because it has a point system. You So, when you reach 5000 points, you can redeem a digital $5.00 gift card! Come save money on Fetch with me! Sign up w/ code G4XU8 & get 2,000 pts! Click the link below!

1000 POINTS = $1.00

4: Rakuten

Rakuten is an awesome cash back app that allows you to earn cash back on your everyday purchases! (Bonus points for you if you are combining the cash back with digital coupons!) Sign up below and get your first $30 worth of items for free, since you will earn $30 after spending $30! Rakuten gives you your earnings every few months. You will either receive your cash by bank account of your choice or a check if you'd like.

5: The app for the store you are shopping at

If I am shopping at walgreens, I'll need the walgreens app for digital coupons. If I'm shopping at CVS, I'll need their store app as well. Pretty straight forward, but these store apps are essential for getting digital manufacturer coupons AND store coupons!
