Hey there, Mama.

It's funny how much I have learned it just 3 years. I am by no means an expert, but I truly have learned a lot! I remember searching Google and Pinterest when I was pregnant for tips and tricks on how to be a good mom and take care of my newborn. There was an overload of information. "How to get your newborn to sleep through the night" and "what you need in your diaper bag" and "here's a list of the gear your baby needs". Now that I have some experience and have gotten most of those gadgets and things. I am happy to be able to share which products I recommend.

The Truth is...

You don't really need everything that is advertised to you!

What do I really need for my newborn?

There are a few important "things" in my opinion that you'll actually need for your newborn baby.

  1. A car seat
  2. A way to feed them (bottle or breast)
  3. A few blankets
  4. A safe place for them to sleep (like a crib, bassinet, or safe bed sharing)
  5. Diapers and Wipes (cloth or disposable options)
  6. Clothes

The rest is simply extra! Here is a list of the "extra stuff" that made life a lot easier!

Pacifiers

Pacifiers made it easier to sooth my baby to sleep, even while exclusively breastfeeding. Some parents may choose to not use a pacifier, because of the possible negative complications. It is a worry of some parents that they will cause dental problems later, their baby will be too attached to it and not want to give it up, or even cause nipple confusion while breastfeeding. We decided to use a pacifier simply to make our baby feel better and to make things a little easier on us as well. That is just what we thought was best for our family. We tried a bunch of pacifiers my baby would only take MAM pacifiers. Babies can be picky! LOL!
